5th Annual GREEN Night

The Annual G.R.E.E.N. (Generating Resources for Educational Excellence Now) night event benefiting North Platte Catholic Schools was held October 27th, and raised over $83,000 for McDaid and St. Patrick’s. This was the fifth year for the event that raises funds to help defray the operating costs of North Platte’s Catholic Schools. Attendance at this year’s G.R.E.E.N. set a new record for the event, as did the amount of money raised.
Over 360 attendees were treated to dinner at the Quality Inn, side-splitting entertainment from magician/comedian Gayle Becwar, plus opportunities to bid on a wide variety of items on silent and live auctions.

All of the funds raised will directly benefit the students at McDaid and St. Patrick’s schools. Auction bidders also donated over $5,000 toward a “Teacher Wish List.” These funds will help purchase
new equipment and technology requested by North Platte Catholic School instructors.
A highlight of the evening was the announcement of Nancy Oates as the G.R.E.E.N. Raffle winner. Oates held the winning raffle ticket for a $15,000 voucher toward a new or used vehicle. She purchased her winning ticket the night of the event. Oates can use her $15,000 voucher to purchase a vehicle at any North Platte New Car & Truck Dealers Association member. The raffle was made possible through the generosity of Bob Mayber, Jerry Remus, Bob Spady, and Bill Summers. The G.R.E.E.N. Raffle helped raise over $20,000.
