Legacy Society
are supporters of Catholic education who have elected to include the Endowment in their will or through a planned gift. This program strives to help people not only understand the charitable gift options they have but the important role charitable giving plays in our society and in our case, Catholic education in North Platte. The goal of the Endowment is to utilize only investment income to provide the school system with the additional funding required to provide a quality Catholic educational program. This will only be accomplished with your help. For further information, please call the Endowment Office at 308-534-5939.
Planned Giving: SAVE on TAXES!
Roll over your IRA to the Endowment to avoid paying income taxes ----
The only way to avoid paying income taxes when rolling-over an IRA is to give it to a charitable organization.
This fall Congress created a $100,000 exemption from income tax consequences for any person over 70 ˝ who wants to roll over their IRA to a charitable organization. This exemption became available after August 17, 2006 through 2007. These rollover gifts may be $500, $1,000, $10,000 or any amount up to $100,000 in one year. There are some very good reasons to take advantage of this special opportunity:
1. You may be looking for a good opportunity to make a major gift;
2. You take the standard deduction and would like extra benefits;
3. It’s a simple and easy method to make a year-end gift.
Nebraska residents tax credit -----
In Nebraska the State Legislature has created a credit against Nebraska income taxes up to $5,000 per individual ($10,000 per couple) when giving a charitable gift. This opportunity to make a charitable gift and to take a deduction from Nebraska income taxes is effective as of January 1, 2006 and terminates on January 1, 2010.
If you are interested in taking advantage of either or both of the following giving opportunities, please call the North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment-Trust, Inc. at
